Art/Design - 15 May 2017 by Leah Blankendaal

Lami SaruCongratulations to Lami Saru, the Lyndoch Institute, and the Southern Barossa Alliance, who have won the major prizes in our 2017 Barossa Vintage Festival Shop Front & High St Challenge.

The judging and public feedback on each of the winning entries was overwhelmingly positive. The judges appreciated the artistic effort that went into the decoration, and the ties with the Vintage Festival past and present.

By going the extra mile and decorating for the Vintage Festival, business were able to generate interest and foot traffic in their shop fronts. Said one shopper, "The Lami Saru display drew me into the shop with its eye catching design and beautiful decoration. I went in to tell them how much I liked it and I instantly bought two dresses!"

By contrast, community spirit and engagement in the challenge made the Southern Barossa Alliance a clear winner of the best Town Group Award. From SBA, "It is exciting for us to be awarded such a prize and very timely, as we need the support to accelerate the establishment of the SBA as the voice of the Community and Business in the Southern Barossa."

Congratulations to all who participated in the 2017 Barossa Vintage Festival Shop Front & High St Challenge.
