Art Music Design is pleased to announce the recipients of its very first Digital Residencies program, created with generous support from the Barossa Council.
Five artists/groups of diverse practices have been chosen from a field of competitive and diverse practices.
Composer Natalie Williams, illustrator Sam Cowley, visual arts collective She is, poet Mel Fechner and sound artist Daniel Thorpe will utilise the Art Music Design online space to create new work.
Regional Development Australia Barossa Gawler Light & Adelaide Plains Arts and Cultural Facilitator Leah Blankendaal says the reception to the project has been "overwhelming".
"The panel were staggered by the quality and range of artists that applied to the residency program. It confirms, in our minds, that arts practice can take place in a broad range of spaces and across a broad range of platforms. We look forward to what our 2019 residents can achieve".
The new work created in these residencies will be shared across five weeks starting in October. For more information about the program see The Leader's announcement this week.
