In the past fourteen or so years my primary concern, in regards to painting, has focused on texture. I have explored impasto techniques, largely through trial and error, using both conventional and found media.

Many of my works include collage elements, adding contrast to the other textural effects. I have consciously left iconography minimal as to distract not from the attraction of the background treatment, in order that they work cohesively.

At times my fascination has turned towards implied texture; whereby the verdigris; the decay is largely illusion. Surfaces appear to have some degree of relief, yet remain virtually flat.
