Blueprint are a Barossa Valley based musical trio combining acoustic guitar, charango, dan bau, harmonica, percussion and other instruments.
The trio's members are Julian (acoustic guitar, dan bau, harmonica), Nick (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, charango), and Kerryn "Larry" (percussion).
The self titled studio album Blueprint was released in early 2011 inspired by their influences in particular Rodrigo y Gabriela, Xavier Rudd, John Butler Trio, Andy McKee, Jorge Reyes, and Pacha. The tracks are inspired by the places they have been and the people they have met. Recorded in the Barossa Valley the album comprises 8 original compositions by Julian and Nick with Simon Marschall co-producing the tracks.
Blueprint have now released their second album 'Sounds from Inside'.
Blueprint have supported Ash Grunwald and Matt McHugh and the Seperatista Sound System and will be performing in the 2015 Fringe Festival.
Tribal percussion is framed by the distinctive sounds of the Djembe and Congas. Stringed instruments including the South American Charango and Vietnamese Dan Bau intermingle effortlessly with complex guitar riffs echoing the group's inspirations and roots which include Rodrigo y Garbriella, Andy McKee, Sonic Youth and Meshuggah.
Visually stimulating and instrumentally diverse, Blueprint's music is simultaneously evocative, engaging and uplifting.
'Blueprint play with integrity and good humour, and are fun to listen to. First class'. Steve Evans - InDaily
